General Information OVERHEAD HOLDERS & STOPS Overhead holders and stops are manufactured specially for industrial, commercial and institutional use. Holders and stops are designed for doors where a positive stop is required or where wall construction does not permit the use of traditional floor or wall stops. Features: Full Field Reversibility. Overhead stops and holders are constructed of stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. Advanced nylon slide block provides smooth operation and reduced friction. Meet the requirements of A.N.S.I. A156.8 Functions: Stop Only (S) - provides positve stop at a specified degree of door opening; determined by template. Hold Open (H) - provides stop and hold-open at a specific point; determined by template. Friction (F) - provides stop and resistance to the opening. Template Note: Most holders and stops can be used in conjunction with various types of door control devices. Please Note: Due to liability issues and our concern for our customers, overhead holders and stops are not manufactured in multi-function configurations so as to prevent the potential misapplication of friction and hold-open functions on fire rated openings. To order holders and stops: Determine desired duty required and application either concealed or surface. Select proper size according to the width of the door opening.
